Chai Feng is a software developer and a technical coach at Odd-e. He has over 15 years of programming experience as well as leading technical teams. He is also experienced in Unix and Linux systems, IT operations, automated testing (mobile/web/desktop) and continuous delivery.
Since he joined Odd-e in 2014, he shares his experience as a coach by helping teams to develop better engineering practices such as Test-driven development, Specification by Examples, Refactoring, Continuous Integration, etc. More recently he has been also helping teams to adopt DevOps practices.
He has worked on product development in various industries including banking, insurance, telecommunications, healthcare, education, and government. He has built embedded applications, mobile communication gateway, web and mobile applications.
In a project with China Pingan, together with his help, the team managed to create 95% of shared automated test code for iOS and Android devices. This helped them to become much more efficient with cross-platform development.
In another project with GE Healthcare, he helped the team with automated build process which reduced the deployment time from 1 hour to 5 minutes. It was further optimized to reach 3 seconds. This enabled the team to deploy fully integrated medical device product 20 to 30 times per day, instead of 2 to 3 times per week.
Chai Feng likes reading and studying about different aspects of computing and IT. In his free time, he also participates actively in technical communities by organizing events such as QClub, Agile Tour (Taiyuan), and Code Retreats (Taiyuan).
